Friday, Mar 6, 2026 • 9:19 AM pvaldes

A section of 11th St. on the UTMB Galveston campus will close beginning Mar. 5 to allow a new water line to be run to the School of Nursing/School of Health Professions Building. The water line will increase the water supply to the building to support a new fire suppression sprinkler system that will serve all four floors of the structure.

Beginning Monday, Mar. 9 at 6 a.m., 6th Street between Harborside Drive and The Strand on the UTMB Galveston campus will be partially closed to accommodate exploratory work in the roadway. This work is part of the East Plant Chiller Project to scope utilities and includes a tie-in connection at Jennie Sealy Hospital. The partial road closure is expected to last two weeks.
