On May 29, Galveston County Community Coalition of the Bay Area Council on Drugs and Alcohol held a Town Hall on youth substance abuse in Galveston County titled, “Connecting to Create Change.” Held in the Historic Kitchen of Moody Mansion in Galveston, the Town Hall brought together experts on underage drinking, safe boating practices, prescription drug abuse, and tobacco prevention and control to speak to a packed house. The event was made possible because of financial support from Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, and UTMB’s Center for Addiction Research donated lunch for the attendees.
