Dr. Dennis Gore, a general and trauma surgeon at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, recently teamed up with his best friend, Dr. Umbert Hart, an anesthesiologist and fellow UTMB alum, to found the Hispaniola Medical Charity, a nonprofit providing medical, surgical and dental care to impoverished residents of the Caribbean island of Hispaniola.
