Earlier this month, part of the Clinical Services Wing under construction at UTMB was hit with 84 mph winds and exposed to hundreds of gallons of water for 15 minutes. But this wasn’t a storm; it was a test meant to spare the medical branch many millions of dollars as it rebuilds after Hurricane Ike five years ago flooded 1 million square feet of floor space on the island campus.
