More and more convincing research shows the power of groups to improve health. Those folks that meet in group sessions to exchange information, ideas and motivate each other seem to have more effective, enduring lifestyle change than those just having one-on-one sessions with their physicians. The patient-centered medical home concept includes the utilization of small groups who come together to learn to manage their diabetes, obesity, pain, stress or other problems.
