State Employee Charitable Campaign
UTMB will kick off its 2014 charitable campaign at the Moody Medical Library Plaza today. This year’s effort focuses on all the generous hearts at UTMB. Last year, UTMB raised $470,000 for the community, and this year’s goal is $500,000. Todd Leach is the 2014 campaign chair. Charities rely heavily on donations from the SECC in order to fund their good work. In the past, in the Galveston area alone, the generous giving by UTMB employees has amounted to about half of all money raised for local and regional charities.

The UTMB Blood Center is hosting a special Halloween Blood Drive from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 31 in the brown atrium hallway in between the John Sealy Hospital and the University Health Clinics on the Galveston campus.
