In an opinion article, the spread of Ebola to UTMB in Galveston is discussed. Since researchers have been studying Ebola for the past 10 years, provisions have been in place since then if a case was reported. At UTMB, there are numerous secure, isolated spaces to care for someone where risk of contagion is extremely high. The best way to stop the spread of Ebola in the U.S. is to transport them to places like UTMB where the infrastructure is right and the people have the expertise to effectively care for the sick.
